We are regularly and actively involved in alternate dispute resolution and the settlement of commercial disputes. The scope has been enlarged especially in Lagos state with the establishment of the court annexed Lagos Multi door Court House (LMCH) and the amendment of the Lagos State High Court rules to include referrals to Arbitration in court. We have in handling some of our clients matters referred commercial cases for settlement via any of the alternate dispute resolution procedures. This mode of dispute resolution has its advantages, which include privacy and the choice of venue/ arbitrators. Most commercial international agreements specifically provide for reference of disputes, which may arise to arbitral panels and the results have been favorable to a large extent.
In this field of arbitration, our principal consultant has been involved in quite a lot of arbitration matters over the years. Our scope of International Arbitration Assignments span the World Bank Administrative Tribunal in Washington, USA (our principal consultant was the president of the WBAT 2004/5), Permanent Court of Arbitration in the Hague, Netherlands, and ICC, Paris, France (Our principal consultant was vice-president of its arbitration chamber). Our firm’s name and reputation in the field of arbitration is quite high, the experience and exposure we have gathered over the years gives us an edge over and above our contemporaries in this field.
